We moved to new premises on the 15th of January 2018 to accommodate our growing business Where:109 Bromfield Street COLAC 3250 Phone: O428 526 460 Invitation: Come in for a coffee or cuppa to see our new bigger, brighter office and talk to your local Conveyancer - Christine Walsh Experience: 17 years in the industry Background: I am Colac born and bred and lived in Colac until moving to Horsham in 1994. There I met my husband Paul and worked in several fields until starting at O'Brien Lawyers, Horsham in 2001. I was a Law Clerk and worked on Conveyancing files under the tutelage of my employer Mr Denis O'Brien (Solicitor). Eventually my knowledge and expertise increased and I became the senior Conveyancer. In early 2015 I commenced a Diploma of Conveyancing which I completed and went on to undertake and complete the Advanced Diploma of Conveyancing. I also undertook further studies to become a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and remain a Fellow whilst undertaking my business as a Licenced Conveyancer at Prudential Conveyancing Services. It has long been my aim to have my own Conveyancing Business and I am pleased to have been able to open my business in my home town of Colac. I enjoy every day in the office and now have added Mace Brown to my small business. He works as my assistant and I am now undertaking his introduction into the world of conveyancing. He has expressed his interest to learn as much as he can about conveyancing and every day brings new challenges, new processes for him to learn. We work well together and I wish him well with his conveyancing journey and hope it turns out to be the career path he can take with him into the future. I keep thinking back to when I first started conveyancing and realise how much the processes have changed with the compulsory introduction of electronic conveyancing in 2017 which is being phased in various steps and will be complete by early 2019. I have embraced the new form of conveyancing and I have been eager to learn the new processes. These are for the most part an improvement - whilst like every change to a process, there are some changes which need to be changed to make them more user friendly. This will all happen in time but it is new and exciting time in Conveyancing and I am thrilled to be a part of it.
